About Asian Chicken Wraps

These Asian Chicken Wraps are perfect for lunch or a light dinner, combining fresh ingredients with bold flavors. I crafted this recipe during my Sunday meal prep sessions, aiming for dishes that are not only easy but also budget-friendly. My family loves these wraps, making them a regular favorite during the week.

  • Quick prep – literally ready in under 10 minutes.
  • Versatile – customize with your favorite veggies or proteins.
  • Great for meal prep – they store well for lunches throughout the week.
  • A cultural nod – the fusion of Asian flavors in a wrap represents the flexibility of modern cuisine.

Key Ingredients & Their Roles

  • Greek Yogurt: Creamy base for the sauce; swap with sour cream for similar results.
  • Shredded Cabbage: Adds crunch and nutrition; try kale for a heartier texture.
  • Cooked Chicken: Protein powerhouse; use rotisserie chicken to save time.
  • Mandarin Oranges: Sweet bursts of flavor; fresh orange segments can work too.

How to Make Asian Chicken Wraps

  1. In a small bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, brown sugar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, sesame oil, and chili garlic sauce until smooth. It should have a creamy consistency, perfect for drizzling.
  2. Lay out your lavash wrap or tortilla and drizzle a generous amount of sauce across the surface. This helps to infuse flavor into every bite.
  3. Layer with diced chicken, shredded cabbage, drained mandarin oranges, and red bell pepper strips. Feel free to adjust quantities based on your preferences.
  4. Top with toasted sliced almonds for extra crunch and drizzle more sauce over the top. Roll up tightly, slice in half, and prepare to enjoy!

Pro Tips & Troubleshooting

  • For optimal crunch, consider chilling cabbage for 30 minutes before use. This keeps it crisp even after assembly.
  • A common mistake is overfilling the wraps. Keep it light to prevent spills during rolling.
  • For seasonal variety, use grilled summer vegetables instead of raw for a warm wrap option.
  • This recipe can easily scale; simply double all ingredients to feed a larger crowd.

Storage & Make-Ahead Guide

Keep wrapped wraps in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. If you plan to enjoy them later, store sauce separately to avoid sogginess. Reheat filled wraps in the microwave for about 30 seconds if desired. After testing various methods, I found that storing the components separately retains the wraps’ freshness longer.
