- 1 lb ground beef or thinly sliced steak
- 1 green bell pepper diced
- 1 small onion diced
- 8 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley chopped (optional, for garnish)
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sauté onions and peppers until softened.
Add ground beef (or steak) to the skillet. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned, then drain excess grease.
Arrange cheese slices on the baking sheet. Bake for 5 minutes until bubbly but pliable.
Spoon beef mixture onto each cheese slice. Roll tightly and place seam side down.
Bake an additional 3–5 minutes until golden.
Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Use provolone for a classic Philly cheesesteak taste.
Let cheese cool 1–2 minutes before rolling to prevent tearing.
Add mushrooms or jalapeños for extra flavor.
