Ingredients

  • 4 oz feta cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese at room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon chopped pistachios
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper

Instructions

  • Add the feta cheese, cream cheese, and olive oil to a food processor. Blend on high for 1 to 2 minutes, scraping down the sides as needed, until completely smooth and creamy. Add the dried basil and minced garlic and pulse until fully incorporated.
  • Scoop the whipped cheese onto a shallow serving bowl or small plate. Use the back of a large spoon to create a well in the center of the cheese.
  • Pour the honey into the well. Garnish with chopped pistachios, finely chopped chives, and cracked black pepper around the edges of the well.
  • Serve immediately with warm pita bread for dipping.

Notes

Use block feta packed in brine for the creamiest, most flavorful result.
Make sure cream cheese is at room temperature before blending for a smooth texture.
The whipped cheese base can be made up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerated. Add honey and garnishes fresh just before serving.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Let refrigerated dip sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving to soften.
Variation: drizzle with hot honey and a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy-sweet version.
