  • 1 cup Greek yogurt whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ½ tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove grated
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  •
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill or mint, or a combination

Instructions

  • Grate the CucumberUse a box grater to finely grate the cucumber.
  • Remove Excess WaterPlace the grated cucumber in a clean kitchen towel or paper towels and squeeze out the excess water to prevent the sauce from becoming too watery.
  • Mix the IngredientsIn a medium-sized bowl, combine the grated cucumber, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, and grated garlic. Stir everything until well mixed.
  • Season and Add HerbsAdd sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Stir in the chopped dill (or mint, depending on your preference).
  • Chill and ServeRefrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve chilled as a dip or sauce.

Notes

  • Make it Spicier: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or finely chopped fresh chili for a little heat.
  • For a Dairy-Free Version: Substitute Greek yogurt with coconut or cashew-based yogurt.

  • Herb Variations: Dill is classic, but you can experiment with fresh mint or parsley to give your tzatziki a different flavor.
