Fruit & Sugar
- 2 medium apples peeled, cored and chopped
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
Spices & Liquid
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 0.5 tsp ground cloves
- 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg
- 0.25 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract optional
Jam Prep
Add cranberries, apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and water to a slow cooker. Stir to combine.
Cover and cook on LOW for 3 hours, until berries burst and mixture bubbles gently around the sides.
Uncover and cook on LOW for an additional 30 minutes to thicken, stirring halfway to prevent scorching.
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract if using, and let sit for 10 minutes before transferring to jars.
Use a 3.5-quart or larger slow cooker to prevent overflowing.
The jam will thicken further as it cools; store in sterilized jars in the refrigerator.
