Ingredients
  

  • 1 box ready-made pie crust 2 crusts
  • 3 tbsp butter melted
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder for brushing crust
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage casings removed
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices divided
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded, divided
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 1/2 cups pizza sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika optional

Instructions
 

  • Heat a skillet over medium, brown the ground beef and sausage until cooked through and fragrant. Drain the excess fat and set aside.
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F. Place one crust in the bottom of your pie pan, pressing firmly.
  • Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese over the crust base to create a barrier against sogginess.
  • Distribute the meat mixture evenly in the pie, layering with pepperoni slices, sauce, and Italian seasoning.
  • Top with remaining mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Cover with the top crust and seal edges. Brush with melted butter mixed with onion powder.
  • Bake the pie for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the filling bubbles gently. Allow resting for 5 minutes before slicing to set.

Notes
