Ingredients
  

  • 1 bottle 750 ml dry red wine (Tempranillo, Garnacha, or Merlot)
  • 1 orange thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon thinly sliced
  • 1 cup strawberries or mixed berries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup brandy or rum
  • 2 –3 tablespoons sugar or honey adjust to taste
  • 1 cup sparkling water or lemon-lime soda for fizz
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions
 

  • Slice oranges, lemons, and strawberries.
  • In a large pitcher, combine red wine and fruit.
  • Stir in brandy and sugar until dissolved.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight for best flavor).
  • Before serving, add sparkling water or soda.
  • Serve over ice and garnish with extra fruit slices.

Notes

Best prepared a day ahead for maximum flavor.
Frozen fruit works well and doubles as ice.
Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar.
