These bite-sized treats pair toasted pecans with soft caramel and a rich chocolate coating. A fun project that comes together in under an hour, they’re ideal for sharing at holiday gatherings or sneaking a sweet snack any time.
Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange pecan halves in neat rows.
Unwrap the caramels and place one on top of each pecan.
Bake for 5–6 minutes, until the caramel edges just start to soften.
Remove from the oven and press each caramel gently with the bottom of a glass to form a flat base.
Let the turtles rest at room temperature for 2 minutes.
Chocolate Topping
Melt the chocolate wafers in the microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring until smooth.
Dollop or drizzle melted chocolate over each turtle, covering the caramel surface.
If desired, sprinkle flaky sea salt on top.
Allow to set at room temperature for 30 minutes, until the chocolate snaps when touched.
