Margarita

A classic, refreshing margarita made with tequila, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, and a touch of agave. Perfect for happy hour or a festive gathering.

Ingredients
  

For one margarita:

  • 2 ounces blanco tequila
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur such as triple sec or Cointreau
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce agave syrup
  • Ice

For the rim:

  • Lime wedge
  • Kosher salt or Tajín for rimming the glass
  • Optional garnish:
  • Lime wheel or lime wedge

Instructions
 

  • Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip it into salt or Tajín to coat.
  • Add ice to the glass or a cocktail shaker.
  • Pour in the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and agave syrup. Shake with ice for 15 to 20 seconds, or stir well if serving over fresh ice.
  • Strain into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge or lime wheel.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor
Adjust the agave syrup to make the drink less sweet
Multiply the recipe for a pitcher
Serve immediately for the best texture and temperature
