Ingredients

Banana Bread:

  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon optional

Maple Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 –3 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 –2 tsp milk as needed for texture

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, mash the bananas. Stir in melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Combine dry ingredients with the banana mixture until just blended.
  • Pour batter into the loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 55–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • For glaze: whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, and enough milk to reach desired consistency.
  • Spread glaze over fully cooled banana bread and let it set before slicing.

Notes

Use ripe, spotty bananas for the best flavor. You can mix in chopped nuts or mini chocolate chips for added texture.
