Garlic Butter Lobster Tail & Seared Scallops

Garlic Butter Lobster Tail & Seared Scallops

The first time I served this seafood combo, the plates came back completely empty—now it's our favorite special-occasion dinner! This dish combines the flavors of tender lobster tails with seared scallops, all drizzled in a decadent garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 each lobster tails fresh or thawed
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 lb large sea scallops patted dry
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter for sauce
  • 1/2 cup seafood stock or chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • each lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  • Start by brushing the lobster tails with melted butter mixed with minced garlic, paprika, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper, awakening the savory aroma.
  • Next, bake the lobster tails in a preheated oven at 425°F for 10 to 12 minutes until the meat turns opaque and is tender to the touch.
  • In the meantime, heat avocado oil and butter in a skillet on medium-high, searing the scallops for 2 to 3 minutes per side until they're beautifully golden and crusty.
  • Once the scallops are done, melt some additional butter in the same skillet, adding minced garlic, seafood stock, lemon juice, and zest. Allow it to simmer for a few minutes to develop flavors.
  • Finally, serve by arranging the lobster tails and scallops on a plate, generously drizzling the warm garlic butter sauce over the top, and garnishing it with parsley and lemon wedges.

Notes

Feel free to customize the seasoning to your taste. You can try using fresh herbs for added freshness.
