Ingredients

  • - 1 lb beef sirloin or tenderloin cut into bite-size pieces
  • - Salt and black pepper to taste
  • - 1 tbsp olive oil
  • - 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • - 4 cloves garlic minced
  • - 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • - 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • For the mashed potatoes:
  • - 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes peeled and chopped
  • - 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • - 4 tbsp butter
  • - Salt and pepper to taste
  • - Chopped chives or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Season beef bites with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear beef in batches for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, lower heat and melt butter. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  • Return beef to the pan and coat in garlic butter. Sprinkle with parsley and red pepper flakes.
  • Meanwhile, boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15 minutes.
  • Drain potatoes and mash with cream, butter, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Plate mashed potatoes and top with beef bites. Garnish with herbs. Serve hot.

Notes

- Don’t overcrowd the skillet—cook beef in batches to get a nice sear.
- You can use cream cheese instead of heavy cream for richer mashed potatoes.
- Add mushrooms or caramelized onions for extra flavor.
