Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 10.75-ounce can condensed tomato soup
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 8 slices frozen garlic bread
  • 1 cup shredded Colby jack cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven according to the package instructions on the frozen garlic bread.
  • In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain the excess fat and return the beef to the skillet. While the beef cooks, place the garlic bread in the oven and bake according to package directions.
  • Add the condensed tomato soup, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, onion powder, salt, and garlic powder to the cooked beef. Stir to combine, bring to a simmer, and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Remove the garlic bread from the oven. Spoon approximately ¼ to ⅓ cup of the beef filling onto each slice.
  • Sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of shredded Colby jack cheese over each slice. Return to the oven briefly until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve immediately.

Notes

Drain the fat from the beef well before adding the sauce ingredients for the best texture.
Store leftover beef filling in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Assemble fresh for best results.
Substitute Colby jack with cheddar, mozzarella, or pepper jack cheese if desired.
Ground turkey can be used in place of ground beef for a lighter version.
