Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb fresh strawberries washed, hulled, and puréed (you’ll reduce it to 1/2 cup)
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure strawberry extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure lemon extract optional, but gives a citrus brightness
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • drops red or pink food coloring optional, for that pretty rosy hue
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk or more, to desired consistency
  • pure vanilla extract 1/4–1/2 teaspoon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Purée fresh strawberries and reduce to 1/2 cup.
  • In a bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar together until combined.
  • Add eggs and extracts, mixing until smooth.
  • Gradually fold in flour and salt, then stir in food coloring if using.
  • Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Allow brownies to cool before glazing.
  • Mix powdered sugar with milk and vanilla extract for glaze.
  • Drizzle glaze over the brownies before serving.
