Dry Ingredients 2.75 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 0.5 teaspoon baking powder Wet Ingredients 1 cup butter softened 1.5 cups white sugar 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 0.5 teaspoon almond extract 3 tablespoons sour cream
Mix Wet Ingredients In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
Beat in the egg, vanilla extract and almond extract until light and fluffy.
Gradually blend in the dry ingredients, then stir in sour cream one tablespoon at a time until a soft dough forms.
Shaping & Baking Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place onto ungreased cookie sheets about 2 inches apart.
Dip the bottom of a glass in colored sugar and gently flatten each ball. Sprinkle with additional colored sugar.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven until edges are lightly browned.
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
