- 1 pack Italian-style meatballs store-bought or homemade
- 1 jar marinara sauce about 24 oz
- 6 hoagie or sub rolls
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley optional
- 1 tbsp butter optional, for toasting rolls
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a skillet, cook meatballs until heated through. Add marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
Place hoagie rolls in a 9x13" baking dish, slightly opened.
Add 3–4 meatballs per roll. Spoon extra sauce over the top.
Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over each sub.
Bake uncovered for 15–18 minutes, until cheese is melted and golden.
Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.
Toast the inside of hoagie rolls before assembling for extra crunch.
Swap mozzarella with provolone, cheddar, or pepper jack for variety.
Add jalapeños or red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
