Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, stir together cream cheese and red food coloring until smooth and evenly tinted.
Slice each hot dog bun lengthwise, leaving a hinge on one side.
Spread about 1 tablespoon of the red cream cheese mixture inside the top and bottom of each bun.
Press six slivered almonds into each half of the bun to resemble vampire teeth.
Place the prepared buns on the baking sheet and bake for 6 minutes, until the edges turn golden and the filling is warmed through.
Serve immediately with ketchup for dipping.
Notes
I found that toasting the almonds for 2 minutes before assembly helped them stick and added a nutty aroma.If the buns brown too quickly, tent them loosely with foil after 4 minutes to prevent overcrisping.Leftover Dracula Dentures can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours; let come to room temperature before serving.
