Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour spooned and leveled
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 1/4 cups milk at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat your waffle iron, greasing it lightly with melted butter to ensure the waffles don't stick.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and sea salt, whisking them together until well blended.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add in the milk, melted butter, sugar, and vanilla. Blend everything together until smooth.
  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined; it's okay if a few lumps remain.
  • Scoop about 1/2 cup of batter onto the center of your heated waffle iron. Close the lid and cook for approximately 4 minutes, or until the waffles are golden and crisp.
  • Serve your warm waffles with a pat of butter and drizzle with maple syrup for a comforting breakfast.

Notes

These waffles are an excellent base for various toppings. I'm always experimenting with fruits or whipped cream to mix things up!
