- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 ½ teaspoons cotton candy flavoring
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Pink and blue gel food coloring
- Optional: cotton candy Pop Rocks or pastel sanding sugar for topping
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg and cotton candy flavoring. Beat until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture to form a soft dough.
Divide dough in half. Tint one half pink and the other half blue.
Gently swirl the two doughs together without fully blending the colors.
Scoop dough into 1½-tablespoon balls and place on baking sheet.
Roll tops in optional candy toppings.
Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are set and centers are slightly soft.
Cool on sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
Don’t overmix the colored doughs to maintain the swirled look.
For extra flavor and texture, add white chocolate chips or candy bits.
