Ingredients

  • 1 can 8 oz refrigerated crescent dough sheet
  • 1/2 lb breakfast sausage
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  • In a bowl, mix cooked sausage with cream cheese and shredded cheddar until well combined.
  • Roll out crescent dough into a rectangle, pressing seams if needed.
  • Spread sausage mixture evenly over the dough.
  • Roll tightly from the long edge into a log. Slice into 1/2-inch thick pinwheels.
  • Place pinwheels flat on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Cool slightly and serve warm.

Notes

For easier slicing, chill the dough roll for 15 minutes before cutting.
You can substitute the cheddar with mozzarella or pepper jack.
Spice it up by using hot sausage or adding chopped jalapeños.
