Ingredients
  

  • 4 ripe tomatoes heirloom or regular, sliced
  • 12 oz 340 g fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 –2 tsp balsamic glaze optional
  • ½ tsp flaky sea salt or to taste
  • ¼ tsp freshly cracked black pepper optional

Instructions
 

  • Wash and slice the tomatoes into ¼-inch thick rounds.
  • Slice the fresh mozzarella into even slices.
  • On a large serving platter, alternate layers of tomato slices, mozzarella slices, and basil leaves.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze (if using).
  • Sprinkle lightly with flaky sea salt and black pepper.
  • Serve immediately as a refreshing side or appetizer.

Notes

Use heirloom tomatoes for the best flavor and color variety.
For extra flavor, add a drizzle of pesto or a sprinkle of oregano.
Always use fresh mozzarella (not pre-shredded) for authentic taste.
