Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp turmeric powder (optional)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 ½ tsp instant yeast
- ¾ cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
For the Sauce:
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 1 tsp garam masala
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tbsp heavy cream or yogurt
For Toppings:
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup paneer cubes or tandoori chicken pieces
- 1 medium red onion, sliced
- ½ bell pepper, diced
- Fresh cilantro leaves (for garnish)
- Green chilies, sliced (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Dough:
- In a large bowl, mix flour, turmeric, salt, and sugar.
- Add yeast, warm water, and olive oil. Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Make the Sauce:
- Heat a pan with 1 tbsp oil. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 1 minute.
- Stir in tomato puree, garam masala, cumin, and chili powder. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Mix in cream or yogurt, and cook for another 2 minutes. Set aside.
Assemble the Pizza:
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and place it on a pizza tray.
- Spread the prepared sauce evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle half the cheese, add toppings like paneer or chicken, and then the remaining cheese.
Bake:
- Bake the pizza in the oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Garnish with cilantro leaves and green chilies if desired.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, replace chicken with extra paneer or spiced veggies.
