Serve them with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or cream cheese frosting for an irresistible finish.

Ingredients

For the Roll-Ups:

  • 10 slices soft white bread (crusts removed)
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon

For the French Toast Coating:

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

For Cooking:

  • 23 tbsp butter

Optional Toppings:

  • Powdered sugar
  • Maple syrup
  • Cream cheese frosting
  • Caramel drizzle
  • Whipped cream

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Bread

  1. Cut the crusts off each slice of bread to create a soft, even texture.
  2. Using a rolling pin, flatten each slice until it is thin but not breaking.

Step 2: Make the Cinnamon-Sugar Filling

  1. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.
  2. Spread a thin, even layer of the cinnamon mixture over each flattened bread slice, leaving a small border around the edges.

Step 3: Roll and Seal the Roll-Ups

  1. Roll each slice into a tight log shape, pressing gently to keep it sealed.
  2. If needed, brush the seam with melted butter to help it stay closed.

Step 4: Prepare the French Toast Coating

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Quickly dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated but not oversoaked.

Step 5: Cook Until Golden Brown

  1. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt 2-3 tbsp of butter.
  2. Place the roll-ups seam-side down in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, rotating until they are golden brown on all sides.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy!

  1. Remove from heat and place on a plate.
  2. Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with maple syrup, or serve with cream cheese frosting for an extra indulgence.

Notes

  • Bread Choice: Soft white bread works best, but whole wheat or brioche can be used for a different texture.
  • Make Ahead: You can prepare the roll-ups in advance, refrigerate them overnight, and cook them fresh in the morning.
  • Reheating Tips: To maintain crispiness, reheat in an oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes or in an air fryer for 3-5 minutes.
  • Custom Variations: Add cream cheese, Nutella, or fruit preserves for extra flavor.
