Instructions

  • Prepare the Ingredients: Slice the beef thinly against the grain and set aside. Wash and cut the broccoli into small florets. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.

  • Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce (optional), cornstarch, and beef broth or water. Set aside.

  • Cook the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef and set aside.

  • Stir-Fry the Broccoli: In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add the broccoli and stir-fry for about 4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger and cook for an additional minute.

  • Combine: Return the beef to the pan and pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli, stirring to coat evenly. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the ingredients.

  • Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and red pepper flakes (if desired). Serve hot over rice or noodles.
